The three agents
Product agent
Lives in your app, next to your own UI, and acts for the signed-in user: "move the Q4 launch to Friday", "find my last invoice". It can only use the actions you switch on, and it calls your API as that user, so it can never see or change more than they could.
It shows to signed-in users only. The install also adds a full-page chat at /chat (or /frankie/chat if you already have a /chat).
Support agent
Lives on your marketing pages. It answers visitors, and when it can't help it asks for their email and hands the conversation to your team. Hand-offs land in Escalations and, if you add a webhook, in Slack or any URL you choose. See Conversations and escalations.
Docs agent
Lives in your docs or API reference. It searches the pages you give it (see Pages agents learn from), answers only from them, and cites the page it used. If the docs don't cover something, it says so instead of guessing.
To put a Support or Docs agent on your site, including sites that aren't React apps, see Add Support and Docs agents to your site.
The assistant in the corner of this page is Frankie's own Docs agent, set up exactly this way.
Custom agents
Beyond the three standard agents, a workspace can add agents limited to the pages you choose, each with its own key, greeting, starter buttons and theme. They share the workspace's sign-in, model, allowed origins and actions.
